In the organic valorization unit, the total air flow that needs to be deodorised corresponds to 410,000 Nm³/h, and the treatment consists of a washing and biofiltration process (total area of the biofilter: 3,130 m²). The biofiltration system contributes to a high flexibility of the deodorisation system, as it results not only in a high efficient treatment of contaminated air, but also in a high control and intervention capacity. Thus the system becomes highly reliable. With this treatment system that covers all circulating air within the buildings, we make sure that no unpleasant odours are released into the outside air.

The extraction of treated gases is performed by 3 vertical ducts with axial fans, so that the treated air is quickly and efficiently spread.

The effluents that result from this process are entirely treated and reused, thus avoiding their discharge into the drainage network designed for other effluents.

Several environmental protection systems reduce noise and vibration.

Modern technological systems ensure a fully automated operation of all equipments and facilities, control and optimise all parameters involved in the composting process and the environmental conditions within the facility.

We should also stress the careful integration of architecture and landscape accomplished within the environment that surrounds Lipor. For this we resorted to buildings of different areas and different types of roofs. Wide gardens, a mirror of water and carefully chosen building materials also enrich this project.
