Biobased products were the theme topic of the latest Biowaste Club
Biobased products were the theme topic of the latest Biowaste Club, which took place at the Escola Superior de Biotecnologia of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa on the 14th of April.
In this event, organized by LIPOR, ESB-UCP and 2GoOut, comprised the presentation of four portuguese case studies of biobased products - Biochar (IM Florestal); Biocomposites (Spawnfoam); Natural food ingredients (AgroGrIN Tech); and products from the recovery of animal by-products (ETSA).
This event also featured the launch of the HOOP Trainers application, which aims to use citizen science to foster the valorisation of biowaste.
The Biowaste Club was followed by an exhibition of Biobased Products and scientific posters that involved the participation of students from ESB-UCP and young professionals from Smart Waste Young Professionals.
The Biowaste Club is organized under the H2020 HOOP project, which comprises the participation of Greater Porto as a "lighthouse region” for the development of bio-based products from biowaste.
