Experience autumn with LIPOR Lifestyle

This autumn, LIPOR has filled its calendar with programs where sustainability goes hand in hand with culture, adventure and even shivering moments. If you're looking for ideas to break out of your routine, with family or friends, take note:

Waste-free cooking at Horta da Formiga
On 25 October, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., young and old alike will don their aprons at Mini Chefs – cooking without waste. A fun morning learning easy, delicious and environmental friendly recipes.

Geocaching and Halloween at the Adventure Park & Ecological Trail
If you haven't tried geocaching yet, October is the perfect opportunity. On the 25th and 26th, the Park will host an international gathering that brings together explorers from various countries in a technological treasure hunt. Admission is free, just bring 1kg of recyclable waste.

And on the 31st, the night takes on a different tone: LIPOR's Halloween returns for its 5th edition. Between 8 pm and 11 pm, Adventure Park is transformed into a scene of terror, with scary trails and spine-chilling characters. From 12 years old (younger children may enter accompanied by an adult). Be brave, admission is free!

Creativity and repair at the Reuse and Repair Centre
October is also a time to give objects a new life:
  • Eco Halloween Workshop: From waste to mischief – 18 October, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Transform used materials into Halloween props and decorations. Fun with sustainability at the Reuse and Repair Centre.
  • Repair with us at CREW's Repair Café – 23 October, 1pm-4pm. Bring your electrical appliance and learn how to repair it. Free activity, registration required.
Art and culture at Casa do Corim
October 11 is Open Day at Casa do Corim. And there are plenty of reasons to visit:
  • Aurélio Paz dos Reis exhibition, with portraits and scenes from everyday life in the 19th century.
  • Estilistas da Natureza (Nature's Designers) exhibition, trees dressed in crochet made by senior citizens.
  • Cultos e Tradições (Cults and Traditions) exhibition, ceramics by Delfim Manuel, vibrant works that combine popular and erudite art.
All this is accompanied by an urban market, live music (4pm-5pm) and the Alimentar a Natureza (Feeding Nature) workshop (3pm-6pm) to learn how to make bird feeders.

And on October 24, at 6pm, historian Joel Cleto will lead the discussion ‘Corim, a house on the road to Guimarães’, to delve into the history of this unique space.

This autumn, LIPOR proves that sustainability is also a lifestyle. These are just a few good reasons to leave home and enjoy different experiences, always in a sustainable way.
