Futebol Clube do Porto – Estádio do Dragão awarded the Green Heart Certification

The Porto Municipality, the Municipal Company Porto Ambiente (EMAP), and LIPOR have awarded Futebol Clube do Porto - Estádio do Dragão the Green Heart Certification.

With this distinction, the aim is to recognize the sustainability practices adopted, particularly in waste management, the community involvement in environmental and social responsibility actions, and the monitoring of the impact of implemented initiatives.

In this context, in November 2023, in alignment with F.C. Porto’s commitment to sustainability, a collaboration partnership was established. This partnership has strengthened the participation and engagement of the internal community and fans in environmentally sustainable practices, particularly in waste prevention, combating food waste, and promoting recycling.

The event was attended by Filipe Araújo, Vice-President of Porto City Council and Administrator of LIPOR, who highlighted the significance of the occasion, stating, "This is a very important event. We are talking about F.C. Porto, the great brand of the city that represents us beyond borders while promoting the values of sustainability.” He also emphasized that "F.C. Porto has done an exceptional job, and we only award the Green Heart Certification to those who follow these sustainability principles and achieve higher standards. We are here to celebrate this moment, recognizing the club’s efforts in waste management, which has significantly increased its recycling efforts.”

The Green Heart Certification is a recognition and appreciation for all the effort and commitment made by the partners in this challenge. It also extends to the entire "blue and white community”, as this achievement would not have been possible without their contribution.
