LIPOR is a candidate for the CEWEP Technological Innovation Award 2025 with the WASH project
LIPOR is a finalist for the CEWEP 2025 Award with its innovative WASH project, which transforms Incinerator Bottom Ashes (IBA) into stylish household products. This recognition highlights LIPOR's pioneering role in the circular economy and urban waste valorisation.
WASH represents a reinvention of kitchen utensils, now reimagined for consumers who value both design and sustainability. The products are made from an innovative composite that includes at least 70% mechanically treated bottom ash and an eco-resin, significantly reducing the carbon footprint.
The developed material combines the elegant appearance of ceramics – due to the mineral composition of IBA – with the impact resistance typical of plastics, ensuring durability and safety in daily use. Its application is especially suitable for kitchen environments, where technical performance meets aesthetic appeal.
Since its creation, WASH has already gained international recognition, winning the prestigious Red Dot Award in 2020, in the Materials and Surfaces category. Since then, LIPOR has invested in the industrialisation of its production, and 40 units of the dispenser have already been successfully manufactured. The project is a concrete example of how urban waste can be reintroduced into the consumption cycle.
LIPOR's candidacy for the CEWEP Technological Innovation Award 2025 reinforces its leadership in innovative waste valorisation and environmental sustainability solutions.
