LIPOR present at the launch of the new door‑to‑door collection model in Tomiño

On 15 April, a LIPOR Delegation travelled to Tomiño, in Galicia, for the presentation and launch of the municipality’s new door‑to‑door waste collection model. This is a project that received technical support from LIPOR, making this milestone an important moment in which LIPOR’s presence was essential.

Representing LIPOR were Dr Fernando Leite, Eng Henrique Silva and Eng João Prata, who have been closely following the development of a project that will also rely on the WAYSTE Platform for collection management and the implementation of a PAYT system.

Dr. Fernando Leite took the opportunity to extend his congratulations to the Mayor and to the Municipality of Tomiño for their courage in moving forward with a project of this scale, which will undoubtedly change the way Waste Management is viewed from now on. It required strong commitment and dedication from everyone who helped drive the project forward, both political and technical.

This was a significant moment for all entities involved, marking the culmination of an important partnership effort that can, and should, not only continue but also be replicated elsewhere, improving the quality of life of citizens.
