LIPOR’s Internationalization Highlighted at the What’s New 2026 Event

The International Business Division took part in the opening session of the internal What’s New 2026 event, presenting the journey of LIPOR International – Global Waste Management during the session entitled "From Baguim to the World – How LIPOR is Exporting Knowledge, Solutions and Impact.”

During this inspiring and collaborative session, participants were taken through LIPOR’s internationalization journey, highlighting the key milestones and experiences that have shaped the last 15 years of activity.

The session demonstrated that LIPOR’s internationalization strategy has been built on technical expertise, ambition, excellence, teamwork and resilience—core values that underpin its ability to transfer know-how, develop sustainable solutions tailored to different contexts, and create a positive impact beyond national borders, fulfilling LIPOR’s purpose of Building a Better World.

The following international service projects were also presented and discussed:

Coordination and preparation of the Waste Forecast as part of the Basic Sanitation Plan for Manaus (Manaus Waste Management Strategic Plan 2026–2045);
EU Cities Getway – International Urban and Regional Cooperation between the European Union and the United States and Canada region;
IURC LAC – International Urban and Regional Cooperation between the European Union and Latin America and the Caribbean.

The presentation of these projects provided an opportunity to share challenges, achievements and lessons learned, showcasing the work carried out by LIPOR’s International Consultants Pool and its ability to deliver excellence in highly demanding technical and institutional environments.

In 2026, LIPOR’s internationalization celebrates 15 years of activity, reflecting the consolidation of LIPOR International – Global Waste Management as a recognised reference in the export of knowledge and the delivery of specialised international consulting services in sustainable municipal waste management.

It is also worth highlighting that, in 2025, international specialised technical consulting services accounted for 28% of the turnover of the Innovation, Research and Development area.
