Paper. What paper?

After leaving the recycling bin or the door-to-door selective collection, paper and cardboard arrive at LIPOR. And this is where a new stage begins, less visible but essential. Once unloaded, the paper and cardboard undergo manual quality control to remove unsuitable materials and ensure the quality of the recyclables.

They are then separated into paper and cardboard. At present, this operation is carried out by a service provider, as the facility does not yet have a dedicated sorting line. After this stage, each material is prepared for dispatch and sent to the respective recycling industry, where the recycling process is completed.

The blue recycling bin is the only one that receives both packaging and non-packaging items, such as writing and printing paper, newspapers, books and magazines.

At LIPOR, we work every day to transform waste into resources, into new products. But the cycle begins long before it reaches our facilities. It begins with you. So, remember, in recycling too, small details make all the difference. Don’t forget your role?
