Repair rather than replace: mission accomplished at Bolhão

Last Saturday, the Bolhão Market hosted another edition of the Repair Café, an initiative dedicated to repairing small appliances and objects, promoting the circular economy and encouraging waste reduction.

During the session, 9 appliances were repaired, 7 of which successfully, extending the useful life of various items and avoiding their replacement. Two technical diagnostics were also performed, helping identify faults and point towards possible repair solutions. In this edition, no item was considered irreparable or destined for parts, a very positive outcome that highlights the potential of repair as a sustainable alternative to disposal.

We thank all volunteers, participants and partners who contributed to the success of this initiative. Together, we keep promoting a culture of repair, sustainability and knowledge sharing, showing that repairing is often the best option for the environment and for the community.
