Associating organic farming to reuse... find out how!

The EB23 Sá Couto School, from Dr. Manuel Laranjeira School District, developed an Organic Farming and Pedagogical Garden Project in the 2018-2020 biennium.

A 6th grade class, together with the school community (teachers, educational assistants, students and parents) put their "hands on” and start practicing the principles of organic farming in the school kitchen garden.

They started by preparing the soil, implementing home composting, planting various crops (strawberries, herbs, pumpkin, etc.) and measuring the cultivated area.

It is also worth mentioning the use of a drip irrigation system, and the reuse of small items and materials (plastic and metal packaging, wood) in the construction of flower boxes.

And in the end, it was time to harvest what they sowed and planted and with these vegetables they made a healthy meal that was shared by all the participants!

Congratulations on your commitment and results!
