LIPOR will have the largest Automatic Packaging Sorting Line in the Iberian Peninsula installed at its Ermesinde/Baguim do Monte facilities

Took place on 3, with the presence of LIPOR's Board of Directors, the Public Presentation of the future LIPOR Automatic Packaging Sorting Line, at LIPOR.

This sorting line, which involves an investment of around six million euros will allow to increase the processing capacity, ensuring even better quality, efficiency and innovation, with the inclusion of the latest technologies in waste sorting, guaranteeing a high quality of the finished products and a reduction of the rejects from the process. Digitization technologies will also be implemented, namely through the sensor installation in the main equipment, in order to allow, in real time, monitoring of the entire production process.

The Automatic Packaging Sorting Line presented today will have a minimum nominal capacity of 8 tons/hour, corresponding to an annual capacity of 14,600 tons, for one shift, and 29,200 tons, for 2 shifts (260 days/year, 7h/shift), thus answering to the challenges that the National Waste Management Plan, PERSU 2030, defines for LIPOR.

According to José Manuel Ribeiro, Chairman of the Board of Directors of LIPOR, "This investment reinforces the commitment of LIPOR and its Municipalities in increasing the capacity of Packaging Sorting, focusing on the optimization and reinforcement of multi-material sorting infrastructures, to maximize the amount of waste to be recovered, constituting a relevant contribution to the fulfillment of European Union goals and objectives for Portugal.
