LIPOR prepares mission to Ecuador

As part of the services provided to the IDB - Inter-American Development Bank, in which LIPOR participates as a Peer Reviewer in the development of a continuous improvement tool for solid waste system operators, LIPOR, at the invitation of the IDB, will participate in a mission to Cuenca, Ecuador next March.

This mission will aim to get to know the local reality of Cuenca in terms of waste management and its reference institutions, promote and share good practices, test the tool that is under development, develop a participatory workshop with key stakeholders in the process, including consultants, end users of the tool, IDB and various experts.

The Argentine municipalities where the pilot projects are currently underway will also be present, providing an opportunity to absorb suggestions for improvement, clarify operational doubts, adjust indicators and targets, clarify concepts and calculation methodologies.

The IDB's Water and Sanitation Division supports solid waste operators in Latin America in structuring projects for more efficient waste management, contributing to decarbonization and moving towards an increasingly circular economy.
