Mobile Drop-off Sites: a Recycling Journey that collected around 63 t of recyclables in 2024

The journey of the Mobile Drop-off Sites continued across the eight LIPOR’s Associated Municipalities, making stops at approximately 52 different locations.

In 2024, citizens deposited a total of 63.822 t of materials at the Mobile Drop-off Sites, which is roughly equivalent to the weight of four passenger buses.

The most collected waste streams included electrical and electronic equipment waste, contaminated packaging, ink cartridges and toners and non-packaging paper.

To ensure that recycling is tailored to the specific characteristics of each material, LIPOR developed this solution in partnership with its Associated Municipalities, preventing recyclable materials from ending up in the waste bin. Since January 2021, Mobile Drop-off Sites have been available to citizens, allowing them to properly recycle certain household waste that they didn’t know how to dispose of.
