Casa do Corim comes alive with another Open Day!

Around a hundred visitors came through Casa do Corim on April 12th for an Open Day event celebrating sustainability, art, and community engagement.

The day included the official opening of the exhibition "Júlio Resende | The Books”, showcasing a collection of original works from the Lugar do Desenho archive, curated by Architect Joaquim Vieira de Magalhães. These works beautifully reflect the relationship between the artist Júlio Resende and book illustration. We invite you to visit the exhibition from Tuesday to Friday, 9:30 AM–12:30 PM and 2:30 PM–4:30 PM, until May 30.

Throughout the afternoon, the Urban Market brought energy and colour to the gardens, with local producers offering their organic products as sustainable alternatives for everyday life. A plant-sharing initiative was also a hit with participants, encouraging biodiversity and friendly exchange among plant lovers.

One of the highlights was the "Planting Health” workshop, led by Cristina Ferreira, who shared simple tips for growing home gardens, focusing on well-being and natural, sustainable eating.

As a preview of World Book Day, the event also featured a "Blind Date with a Book", in partnership with Porto Editora publisher.

We believe that opening the doors of Casa do Corim means opening doors to the community, to learning, and to sharing values that are essential for a more sustainable future.

This Open Day reinforced Casa do Corim’s role as a hub of cultural and environmental sustainability and offered a glimpse into an exciting year of programming ahead. Stay tuned and follow our events!
