LIPOR receives international visits in may to share good practices in waste management and sustainability
LIPOR is about to receive three important international delegations in May, reinforcing its role as a benchmark in sustainable waste management and the circular economy.
The first visit, scheduled for the beginning of the month, is part of the XIX International Benchmarking Sanitation and Waste Europe, which will bring a group of businesspeople and political decision-makers from Brazil to Portugal. The aim is to learn about the best practices adopted by LIPOR, from waste recovery to environmental education initiatives, which have put the Greater Porto region at the forefront of sustainability.
The Environment Committee of the Parliament of the State of Lower Saxony, Germany, will be present on 9 May. The German delegation, interested in public environmental policies and technological solutions for waste management, will have the opportunity to visit LIPOR's facilities and discuss models of co-operation between the public and private sectors.
Finally, on the 16th, it will be the turn of a group of students from the University of South Carolina Business School, who will be visiting Porto as part of an academic programme focused on sustainability and business innovation. LIPOR will serve as a case study, showing how a public organisation can lead the transition to a greener economy.
These visits highlight the international recognition of the work carried out by LIPOR, which continues to position Portugal as an example to follow in the management of waste management.
