LIPOR keynote speaker at BID - Inter-American Development Bank event

LIPOR was present at the IDB's Knowledge Week, an annual internal event where IDB staff from various Latin American countries and Washington (headquarters) come together to share experiences, knowledge and good practices, broaden horizons, explore opportunities and consolidate the Vision and Strategies for Work and the Future.
The event took place in Mexico, at the Tecnológico de Monterrey (University), on May 8th and 9th.

Focusing on the themes of water & waste, transport, energy and infrastructure, the 300 or so IDB employees were divided into technical working groups according to their expertise.
LIPOR took part in the work of the water and waste group, in the session "Efficiency in solid waste management: the role of regional models and inter-municipal consortiums”, presenting the governance model in place at LIPOR as an inspiring model that can be replicated in several Latin American countries.

LIPOR's presentation, which was highly appreciated, set the tone for the panel debate, in which IDB waste experts also took part, sharing their vision and concrete experiences in the development and implementation of inter-municipal consortia.

There was immense curiosity in order to better understand the operationalization of the LIPOR case so as to guarantee its successful replication, with the necessary adaptations, to other geographical areas.

This was another important step in the consolidation of the LIPOR and IDB partnership, which has been strengthened over the years and where trust has been growing.
