World Bank and Tanzania Delegation visits LIPOR

A delegation composed of representatives from the World Bank and government authorities from Tanzania visited LIPOR's facilities on July 22, recognizing LIPOR as an international reference entity in the waste management sector.

The delegation was welcomed by LIPOR's CEO, Fernando Leite, who presented the organization's strategy and the results achieved, also addressing questions regarding LIPOR’s governance model and the challenges faced in the 1980s when the LIPOR Project was created.

The visit included a tour of the TAE – Automatic Packaging Sorting Unit, considered the most modern in the Iberian Peninsula, where the visitors were able to observe the advanced technology used in waste separation.

This was followed by a visit to CVO – the Composting Plant, where the process of transforming organic and green waste into a 100% natural and sustainable organic corrective, "Nutrimais", was demonstrated.

The delegation was impressed by LIPOR's innovative solutions.

The CEO and the Head of the International Business Division emphasized LIPOR's openness to international partnerships and interest in developing projects and services funded by multilateral development banks. They also presented the priority geographical areas for LIPOR's international activities, with Africa at the top of the list.

LIPOR's international work underscores the organization’s commitment to the circular economy and environmental sustainability beyond borders.

This visit reinforces LIPOR's role as a reference in the sector, attracting the interest of global institutions in search of effective solutions for environmental challenges.
