“Recycling is Giving More and receiving future” - LIPOR launches new campaign to encourage glass recycling
LIPOR, committed to promoting recycling and the circular economy, presents its latest communication and awareness campaign with the slogan "Recycling is Giving More and receiving future”. The initiative, carried out with the support of Sociedade Ponto Verde, aims to increase glass recycling rates through a digital communication strategy and outreach actions within the HORECA channel (hotels, restaurants and cafés).
A national challenge
Portugal currently faces a challenge: meeting the recycling targets set by the European Union. In 2024, the glass recycling rate stood at 50.4%, well below the 70% required by 2025. The HORECA sector plays a decisive role in this context, given the high amount of glass packaging it generates on a daily basis.
A 360º approach
LIPOR's campaign focuses on integrated communication, combining the power of digital with the proximity of actions on site.
In the digital environment, the aim is to raise awareness among citizens and professionals in the HORECA channel for the importance of adopting the "LIPOR Lifestyle”, where recycling becomes a natural, daily and conscious gesture. The central message — "Recycling is giving more and receiving future” — reinforces the idea that recycling is a positive exchange: today's efforts guarantee a more sustainable future.
On site, teams from LIPOR and its associated municipalities will carry out door-to-door awareness-raising activities in Espinho, Gondomar, Maia, Matosinhos, Póvoa de Varzim, Valongo and Vila do Conde. The aim is to train and support establishments in the HORECA sector, providing equipment, answering questions and promoting good practices adapted to the reality of the sector.
Commitment to the community
With this initiative, LIPOR and its municipalities reaffirm their commitment to involving citizens, businesses, local authorities and technicians in building a more sustainable future. Small individual gestures, when multiplied by the community, generate a significant collective impact and bring Portugal closer to European targets.
With the new campaign, LIPOR reinforces the promotion of the circular economy, proving that by "giving more to recycling, we all receive a future”.
