LIPOR selected to Participate in the EU Cities Gateway Programme

The Greater Porto area, represented by LIPOR, has been selected to take part in the European Programme EU Cities Global Gateway – North America (EUCG-NA) for the period 2025–2028.

This initiative falls within the scope of the International Urban and Regional Cooperation (IURC) programme, which fosters connections between cities and regions in North America and the EU to exchange knowledge, co-create solutions, and drive innovation.

Participation in the EU Cities Gateway will take place through thematic clusters, which bring together groups of cities working on shared priorities, such as:

Nature-Based Solutions – green infrastructure, ecosystem-based resilience, and community-led sustainability.
Circular Economy – waste management, resilient food systems, and local green business models.
Digitalisation and Urban Innovation – smart governance, ethical AI, data-based services, and digital inclusion.
Affordable Housing and Innovative Living Spaces – innovative living spaces, urban equity, and livability solutions.

LIPOR is part of the Circular Economy cluster.
