HORECA Establishments in Espinho, Gondomar and Valongo are already being engaged in glass recycling awareness

LIPOR and the Municipalities of Espinho, Gondomar and Valongo have launched door-to-door awareness actions as part of a new glass recycling campaign, under the slogan "Recycling is Giving More and Receiving a Future."

Focused on the HORECA sector (hotels, restaurants, cafés, and similar businesses) - which will be crucial for Portugal to meet the European glass recycling targets - the initiative is actively underway in these three municipalities. In Valongo 205 establishments will be covered, in Espinho 50, and in Gondomar 230.

LIPOR teams are directly contacting business owners and professionals, providing information, answering questions, and distributing equipment. The goal is to support these establishments in adopting good practices and significantly increasing glass recycling, showing that by "giving more" to recycling, everyone "receives a future."

The action in Valongo is part of a broader intervention that will also take place in Espinho, Gondomar, Maia, Matosinhos, Póvoa de Varzim, and Vila do Conde, reaffirming LIPOR and its associated municipalities' commitment to promoting the circular economy.
