Consultation period for the Municipal Basic Sanitation Plan of Manaus has begun

The Municipality of Manaus held, on 11 December, the Opening Session of the Public Consultation for the Municipal Basic Sanitation Plan (PMSB), which covers four components: water supply, wastewater management, stormwater management, solid waste management and urban cleaning.

A team of consultants from LIPOR Internacional – Global Waste Management was responsible for preparing the Forecast for the waste management component, defining an ambitious strategy that projects the future of sustainable waste management and urban cleaning for the city of Manaus over the next 20 years.

The formal presentation session of the Preliminary Diagnostic and Forecast Reports of the PMSB marks the beginning of the public consultation period, inviting the population of Manaus to actively participate through comments, suggestions and requests for clarification, with the aim of contributing to the development of joint and structured solutions for the future of the city.

The Opening Session was broadcast live on the official channels of the Municipality of Manaus, highlighting its commitment to transparency, social participation and active listening to the population.

During the public consultation period, which will run until February 2026, LIPOR Internacional team, together with the panel of experts responsible for preparing the Plan, will analyse all contributions received, placing their technical know-how at the service of improving sustainable and ambitious solutions aligned with the interests and needs of the population of Manaus.
