A delegation of 12 members from Tanzania visited LIPOR’s facilities on March 10. The delegation was led by Professor Riziki Shemdoe, Minister of Regional Administration and Local Government, and included representatives from Tanzanian local authorities and the World Bank.
Received in the auditorium of the Administrative Building, the visitors attended an institutional presentation on LIPOR’s waste management model and had the opportunity to hear the history of LIPOR presented by the Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Fernando Leite.
At 3:30 p.m., the group departed for a technical visit to the Recycling Circuit, which included stops at the ECOCENTRO, CREW, and the Automated Packaging Sorting Unit (TAE).
The delegation concluded the programme with a visit to the Composting Plant (CVO), where they learned about the different solutions implemented by the company for the treatment and recovery of organic waste.
