LIPOR Internacional delivers Strategic Plan to Manaus

LIPOR Internacional has successfully completed another international service assignment, strengthening its position as a leading specialist in the field of sustainable urban waste management in Brazil.

As a partner of FINATEC, LIPOR was part of the team responsible for preparing the PMSBM - Municipal Basic Sanitation Plan of Manaus, Brazil, which covered four major areas: water supply, sanitary sewage system, stormwater management and solid waste management and urban cleaning.

Within this project, LIPOR Internacional was the coordinator for the development of the Prognosis for the solid waste management and urban cleaning component, defining targets, strategic initiatives, management models and monitoring instruments. This contribution will support improvements in the population’s quality of life and strengthen the sustainability of the Municipality of Manaus.

Following the analysis of contributions gathered during the public consultation phase, the final document now completed reflects an ambitious, long‑term vision for the sustainable development of Manaus over the coming decades, aligned with the needs of the territory and with the international best practices in sustainable urban waste management. The Plan will guide the actions of the Municipality of Manaus for the 2026–2045 horizon.

This milestone consolidates a highly demanding technical work, grounded in a rigorous, integrated and locally adapted holistic approach. The project demonstrates LIPOR’s capacity to transfer knowledge, operate in complex contexts and deliver solutions of technical excellence beyond national borders.

This project is part of LIPOR’s internationalisation strategy which, supported by more than 40 years of experience and consolidated know‑how, has enabled the Organisation to secure new international contracts and strengthen its credibility with multilateral institutions and international partners.
