Coração Verde distinguishes 98 entities and brings together a sustainable community

On 30 May, the Coração Verde (Green Heart) community gathered once again for a morning dedicated to sustainability, the exchange of ideas and, above all, the people who make a difference in their communities. The event, promoted by LIPOR and its Associated Municipalities, brought together representatives of organisations, institutions, projects, families and citizens who feel part of and live the LIPOR Lifestyle.

More than a meeting about the environment, the event positioned itself as a space for reflection on impact, commitment, transformation and the future. Because Coração Verde is not just a certification. It is a way of being, a voluntary and daily choice, built by a community of people, families, entities and projects who believe that small actions can generate major change.

Throughout the morning, participants had the opportunity to learn about new LIPOR initiatives, inspiring stories, transformative projects and concrete examples of community action, reflecting on the challenges encountered and celebrating those who continue to build sustainable solutions in their territories and communities.

One of the most symbolic moments of the event took place during the "Coração Verde para Todos” (Green Heart for Everyone) ceremony, dedicated to awarding the 98 Coração Verde Certifications attributed in 2025 by LIPOR’s Board of Directors to entities from the associated municipalities, raising the total number of certified entities to 535. There are now around 850 organisations involved in this Community.

As is tradition at the event, the Special Coração Verde Awards 2025 was also presented, recognising examples of dedication, impact and commitment to sustainability and the community. The Entity Coração Verde 2025 award was given to Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Vila do Conde. The Event Coração Verde 2025 award distinguished the "Arraial d’Engenharia” organised by the FEUP Students’ Association. The Personality Coração Verde 2025 distinction was awarded to Major Rita Marques, from the 3rd Engineering Regiment, for her contribution and involvement in promoting more sustainable communities.

The Chairman of LIPOR’s Board of Directors, António Silva Tiago, highlighted the consistent growth of the Coração Verde community as a reflection of the increasing commitment of participating entities:
