Inter-American Development Bank delegation visits LIPOR

This week, LIPOR hosted a Technical Week organised within the framework of its partnership with the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).

Throughout the week, the programme fostered knowledge sharing and benchmarking, giving participants from Uruguay and Ecuador the opportunity to gain first-hand insight into LIPOR's high-performance circular waste management model.
The delegation included senior representatives from the Municipality of Montevideo, Uruguay, and the Public Company for Integrated Waste Management of Quito, Ecuador.

The programme featured visits to LIPOR's facilities, as well as several technical sessions led by LIPOR's specialists, providing valuable opportunities to exchange knowledge and share best practices in urban waste management and recovery.

This Technical Week also marked the formal conclusion of the contract established between LIPOR and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).

As part of this project, LIPOR Internacional – Global Waste Management was responsible for providing technical support and conducting a peer review of the GIRS Rating tool, developed by the IDB and focused on the collection and analysis of statistical indicators for waste management.

The success of this collaboration strengthens the relationship of trust between the two institutions and paves the way for future opportunities for international cooperation.
