“Clean Market, Shopping with Taste!” arrived at the Pedras Rubras Market, in Maia

The Municipality of Maia and LIPOR together with the Moreira Parish Council launched, a Selective Collection project at Pedras Rubras Market.

We want the Market to be an example of good practices in waste management, providing a pleasant and attractive space for businesses and those who visit it, through recycling and cleaning the respective premises. Let's make the Market a cleaner space!

On this opening day, which was attended by Marta Peneda, Councilor for the Environment of the Municipality of Maia and LIPOR Administrator, and Carlos Moreira, Head of Moreira Parish Council, yellow and blue bags were distributed to all stallholders for the correct placement of plastic packaging and paper/cardboard, to be collected at the end of the Market. Alongside this delivery, awareness-raising actions were carried out, explaining all the steps for correct recycling.

As an incentive to good practices, stallholders, complying with the defined rules, entered a draw that will reward them with a free monthly Market fee.

"Clean Market, Shopping with Taste!” is a project that adds benefits for everyone: for stallholders and customers, who enjoy a more pleasant space, and for the Good Environment, the ultimate aim of another LIPOR initiative, in partnership with the municipalities.
