“Clean Market, Shopping with Taste!” arrived at the Valongo Market. Let's make the Fair a cleaner space!
The Municipality of Valongo and LIPOR
launched, today, a Selective Collection project at Valongo Market, together
with the Valongo Parish Council.
We want the Market to be an example of
good practices in waste management, providing a pleasant and attractive space
for businesses and those who visit it, through recycling and cleaning the
respective premises. Let's make the Fair a cleaner space!
On this opening day, which was attended by José Manuel Ribeiro, Mayor of Valongo and Cláudia Lima, President of the Valongo Parish Council, yellow and blue bags were distributed to all the fairgoers for the correct placement of plastic and paper/cardboard packaging per stall, to be collected from the fairground at the end. Alongside these deliveries, awareness-raising activities are being promoted, clarifying all the steps for correct recycling.
As an incentive to good practices, stallholders, complying with the defined rules, entered a draw that will reward them with a free monthly Market fee.
"Clean Market, Shopping with Taste!” is a project that adds benefits for everyone, for stallholders and customers, who enjoy a more pleasant space, and for the Good Environment, the ultimate aim of another LIPOR initiative, in partnership with the municipalities.
