Comic Con implements good practices in its waste management process with technical support from LIPOR

Concerned with improving its sustainable performance, Comic Con received specialized technical support from LIPOR to implement good environmental practices in its waste management process.

In a partnership with Matosinhos Municipality, Rede Ambiente and Exponor, 345 people were trained, including cleaning teams, restaurants, exhibitors and event sponsors. In addition, 160 pieces of equipment were installed for the selective collection of paper and cardboard, plastic and metal packaging, glass and food waste, in the various event pavilions.

As a result, 780 kg of paper and cardboard, 1340 kg of plastic and metal packaging, 120 kg of glass and 300 kg of food waste were delivered during the event, totaling 2540 kg of waste correctly sent for recycling.

The event, held between March 21st and 24th, promotes the Pop Culture industry and brings fans and the community closer to this universe. The objective of the LIPOR team's actions was to achieve levels of excellence related to recycling and sustainable practices.

Comic Con Portugal, which has held the event in the country for 10 years, is a candidate for the Green Heart Certification, a recognition given by LIPOR to entities and events with proven good practices in waste management and sustainability.

In addition to the specialized technical support and awareness raising carried out by LIPOR technicians, LIPOR's participation in the event included an Instagrammable space that aimed to encourage all event visitors to reflect on their role in recycling.
