53 Entities receive the Green Heart Certificate

On October 21 took place the 2nd edition of the Green Heart Event at LIPOR Organic Valorization Center auditorium. This celebration marks the delivery of the Green Heart Certification – awarded by LIPOR and its Associated Municipalities – to institutions with recognized sustainability practices and that generate a positive impact on their surrounding environment.

Of a total of 53 recognized entities, 40 received certification at the event, while the others will receive theirs in an in-house ceremony. In addition to educational and social institutions, we can also refer the recognition of Court Houses, Hotels and Restaurants.

In addition to the delivery of certifications, the event was marked by the sharing of innovative good practices and debates about semiotics at the service of the Environment and entrepreneurship. The main purpose of the event is to create an informal moment of gathering between partners, building a spirit of cooperation, which influences and disseminates sustainable communities.

Since 2014, the year Green Heart was implemented, 322 entities have been certified, totaling 251,335 people reached.

Applications for Green Heart Certification can be made by filling out the form at www.lipor.pt/en/green-heart-certification/. Public and private organizations based or operating in the municipalities of Espinho, Gondomar, Maia, Matosinhos, Porto, Póvoa de Varzim, Valongo and Vila do Conde are eligible.
