We transform our world!

LIPOR accepts the challenge of Sustainability and is committed to the global priorities of the Sustainable Development Goals, incorporating them into its business strategies.

These are some examples showing LIPOR's commitment to SDGs: implementing a structured innovation process, guaranteeing compliance of Quality Management Systems, developing the Environmental Awareness Plan, promoting Waste Prevention, implementing the LIPOR 3M Strategy and the Biodiversity Strategy, as well as establishing multisectoral partnerships.

The following list presents the interconnection between our Strategy and the different SDGs.

Through the production of Nutrimais, an organic soil improver, LIPOR contributes towards maintaining or improving the natural fertility of soils.


The development of the Environmental Awareness Plan aims to create an educational offer that promotes the commitment of citizens to good environmental practices, facilitating the acquisition of environmentally sustainable and responsible skills that promote greater civic intervention.

The Rio Tinto Recovery Project aims to monitor the evolution of water quality, enabling essential interventions to be carried out to recover the river, revitalize the riverside ecosystem and define its future sustainable uses.

Energy Recovery from unsorted waste enables the production of sustainable, local and partly renewable energy.

In order to guide activities towards excellence, LIPOR guarantees the compliance of Quality, Environmental, Safety, Occupational Health, and Social Responsibility Management Systems.

The implementation of a structured Innovation process enhances internal knowledge and reinforces synergies with Research and Development.

The Adventure Park is a public leisure space, promoting sporting activities and environmental awareness. It is the result of a project of sealing, re-habilitation and environmental landscape recovery of the former Landfill of Ermesinde/Baguim do Monte, which has been returned to the public.

Lipor works as a catalyst for change with the development of a set of policies, programs and actions that promote Waste Prevention.

The LIPOR 4M Strategy - less Waste, less Carbon, more Climate, more Biodiversity represents LIPOR's voluntary contribution to the fight against climate change.

LIPOR publicly committed to developing a Strategy to Promote Biodiversity in the Region of Greater Porto, including research and development, and application and raising awareness.

LIPOR's involvement with National Multisectoral Partnerships intends to encourage and anchor sustainable development.

LIPOR is associated with an initiative by BCSD Portugal (Business Council for Sustainable Development) to promote the SDGs, presenting some of the Case Studies and projects developed in line with the Sustainable Development Goals.
