Environment

The implementation of the Environmental Management System aims to:
  • Improve our ability to anticipate in the face of growing expectations of environmental performance;
  • Ensure continuous analysis of legal requirements and environmental policy in general, reducing the risks associated with legal non-compliance;
  • Promote better waste management, namely in terms of reducing quantities;
  • Guarantee better control of environmental risks (and associated costs), through efficient operational control and monitoring plans that guarantee their prevention and/or minimization.
LIPOR's Environmental Management System is certified by the standard NP EN ISO 14001:2015, which is implemented in the following areas/activities:
  • Material admission from selective collection circuits;
  • Collection and admission of materials from door-to-door selective collection (Ecofone);
  • Managing of the Sorting Plant (materials from selective collection);
  • Managing the Energy Recovery Plant and Technical Confinement Plant;
  • Collection of organic waste;
  • Managing the Composting Plant;
  • Managing the Formiga Drop-off Site;
  • Selling NUTRIMAIS (registered trademark) organic compost.
In any Environmental Management System is essentially the environmental activities, products and services organization identification. At LIPOR we carefully identify these aspects yearly.

LIPOR's Environmental Management System is certified by the standard NP EN ISO 14001:2015.
