Can compostable bags be placed in the Brown Food Waste Container?
The absence of contaminants in the collected waste is fundamental for the viability and success of the entire composting process.
LIPOR's Composting Plant receives, values and transforms the food and green waste collected into a high-quality Compost – NUTRIMAIS.
After performing several tests with packages classified as biodegradable/compostable, we can see that, after the composting process, the materials did not suffer the necessary decomposition to guarantee the quality of the product.
For this reason, we appeal that they are not placed in the Food Waste Container, but in the Composter (if you compost at home) or in the mixed waste bin.
In any case, we are attentive to improving the compostable nature of packaging placed on the market, so if this recommendation changes we will disclose it.
