“Clean Market, Shopping with Taste!” arrived at Póvoa de Varzim

The Municipality of Póvoa de Varzim and LIPOR, together with the Póvoa de Varzim, Beiriz e Argivai Parish Council launched, a Selective Collection project at the Póvoa de Varzim Market.

We want the Market to be an example of good practices in waste management, providing a pleasant and attractive space for businesses and those who visit it, through recycling and cleaning the respective premises. Let's make the Market a cleaner space!

On this opening day, which was attended by Sílvia Costa, Councilor for the Environment of the Municipality of Póvoa de Varzim, and Ricardo Silva, Head of the Póvoa de Varzim, Beiriz e Argivai Parish Council, yellow and blue bags were distributed to all stallholders for the correct placement of plastic packaging and paper/cardboard, to be collected at the end of the Market. Alongside this delivery, awareness-raising actions were carried out, explaining all the steps for correct recycling.

As an incentive to good practice and participation, stallholders will have access to a monthly discount if they leave the space clean, tidy and the waste delivered to the right place.

"Clean Market, Shopping with Taste!” is a project that adds benefits for everyone: for stallholders and customers, who enjoy a more pleasant space, and for the Good Environment, the ultimate aim of another LIPOR initiative, in partnership with the municipalities.
